I would say I'm sorry if I thought that it would change your mind, but I know that this time, I have said too much, been to unkind. So I try to laugh about it, cover it all up in lies. I try to laugh about it, hiding the tears in my eyes cause... Boys Don't Cry Boys Don't Cry... I would break down at your feet and beg forgivness, plead of you, but I know that it's no use and now there's nothing I can do, So I try to laugh about it, cover it all up in lies. I try to laugh about it, hiding the tears in my eyes cause... Boys Don't Cry Boys Don't Cry... I would tell you that I loved you if I thought that you would stay, but I know that it's no use and you've already gone away, It's just a limit, pushed you too far, took you for granted, I thought that you needed me more, now I would do most anything to get you back by my side, but I just keep on laughing, hiding the tears in my eyes, cause Boys Don't Cry, Boys Don't Cry... The Cure, "Boys Don't Cry" |
The Cure are the closest thing to something I can call my favourite band. Their music, especially off the album Disintegration, is a mix of gothic, subdued guitar, with a wide, creative range of melodies.
It is said that Robert Smith (the guy in the poster above) writes his songs after dreams he has dreamt. I don't know, but he has come up with some beautiful music, and words to go with it.
My favourite cure song is without a doubt Plainsong (download mp3, 929K). I wont try to explain why I like this song so much, be brave, just click the link.
Besides Disintegration, other excellent albums are Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me; Wish; and Boys don't cry. There are many other great Cure albums, but these, in my opinion are the outstanding ones.
A lot of Cure fans like these albums less because they feel they depart from the real Cure albums of the past (and they do), I agree to some extent but I still think these albums portray the best nusic the Cure wrote. I urge you to hear them!!!!
I have tried to keep this page to the minimum of the minimum. so all I will add is the link list you'll find on all the artist pages:
